Tanya Martof, DVM, Owner
Dr. Martof is a 1995 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a native Marylander and has been practicing in Maryland since graduating. Dr. Martof enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery with a special interest in internal medicine, dental health, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Martof has owned Clarksville PetVet since July 2021.
She and her husband, Mark, moved to Columbia in 2000, and have two sons. Joe is attending the University of Maryland and Joshua is attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. They also have a black Lab (Pepper) and a rescue cat (Henry). In her free time she enjoys walking her dog and training for triathlons. She has completed the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman twice, as well as, two marathons.
Katharine Matavao, DVM
Dr. Matavao grew up in Hawaii and graduated from Punahou School. She wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age and one of her grandfathers was also a veterinarian. Some of her favorite memories from childhood include hand feeding baby birds and fostering kittens.
She attended Colorado State University's Veterinary School and graduated in 2012. She also completed training in veterinary acupuncture while at Colorado State. Her interests include acupuncture, pain management, geriatric pet care and hospice.
Tia Perry, DVM, MPH, CCRT, CVA, CTPEP, CVFT, CVTP, SAVMM, CERPV, EVMM, CVCH, MS-TCVM, MSIVM-C, MSIVM-E
Dr. Perry was raised in Northern Virginia. She spent many of her early years immersing herself in animal care, focusing her studies on biology, animal husbandry, and health care. These interests guided her to Virginia Intermont College, where she completed curriculums in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Equestrian Studies in 2007. Her interests in medicine continued to grow, and she pursued veterinary medicine and public health at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2014, she moved to the Washington DC area, and has spent the last 10 years in clinical practice. With a special interest in surgery, she is deeply focused on pain management and helping patient’s live their lives at the highest level of activity and with the greatest quality of life.
When not caring for her patients, Dr. Perry enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and her two beloved dogs.
Karen - Operations Manager
Karen graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She has over 8 years experience working in the veterinary field. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, Glenn, and pets.
CJ - Head Receptionist
CJ has been with the practice for nearly 20 years. She's always seen with a huge smile and passing out the "snackies" to our furry patients. When she's not working she enjoys reading, enjoying time with family/ friends or having out with her pet pigs: Sir Mr. Piggums and Lord Piggleston. She's always ready for any adventure life brings.
Jasmine - Veterinary Assistant
Jasmine graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in Biology in 2018. She loves reading in her spare time. At home, she has a multitude of pets. These include, 10 ball pythons, 3 red-tailed boas, 4 cats and a sun conure named Rainbow. Jasmine believes in taking one day at a time and seeing where life takes her!
Stephanie - Veterinary Assistant
Stephanie was born and raised in Maryland. She lives in western Howard County with her husband, Eric. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 17 years. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading and collecting antiques. Quality time with her husband is spent taking care of their forty+ animals that include a llama, an alpaca, dogs, cats, goats, geese and chickens.

In addition to caring for animals at PetVet, Sajala is enrolled at Howard Community College.
Taylor - Veterinary Assistant
Taylor is a dedicated veterinary assistant with a deep love for animals and a passion for helping them live their happiest, healthiest lives. With years of hands-on experience caring for pets in both clinical and home settings, Taylor brings compassion, patience, and a calm touch to every patient she meets. When she’s not at the clinic, Taylor enjoys spending time with her two kids and three dogs—who always keep her on her toes and remind her why she loves what she does.
